Rabia Shah is originally from the UK and graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2001. She has been working in Singapore for the past 15 years. Joining our fantastic team of osteopaths at The Osteopathic Centre, Rabia believes good healthcare comes from a multi-disciplinary approach of highly experienced practitioners.
Rabia believes in providing holistic, evidence-based care to her patients by using hands-on manual therapy such as joint mobilisation and soft tissue work, along with the utilisation of corrective exercises and education to treat the source of pain.
Rabia specialises in Women’s Health, Musculoskeletal Conditions, Pre and post-natal Physiotherapy, Clinical Pilates and Mindfulness for Health. Rabia’s Women’s Health experience includes Diastasis Recti management, pelvic floor dysfunctions,
incontinence and Pelvic Pain. Her sessions always start with a thorough assessment and she starts each treatment session by explaining
the anatomy and function of parts of the body that need treating. Once she has completed the treatment, exercise and advice component, she provides a tailored Home Exercise Programme with Videos, pictures and concise explanations to ensure the correct muscles are being trained at work and home!
Rabia enjoys treating complex pain disorders and her approach to Chronic Pain management focuses on using neuroplasticity to re-programme and reduce over-active danger signals in the brain and nervous system. Her repertoire includes Therapeutic Neuroscience education, Mindfulness for Pain and Mindful Movement.
